Hain Joins the Labour Campaign to back the Alternative Vote

More news (this time from Tribune Magazine) of another prominent Labour politician, Shadow Welsh Sectretary Peter Hain, joining  their campaign to help win a Yes vote in next May’s referendum-

Mr Hain, a long-standing supporter of electoral reform, told Tribune that campaigning for AV would be “a fight between progressive forces and the Tories”, and would help counter their “gerrymandering” of parliamentary constituencies.

While warmly welcoming Peter Hain onboard the broader campaign for a better, fairer electoral system, I hope the rest of his much-needed input into the Yes to AV campaign won’t be quite so sprinkled with party-political point-scoring as some of his quotes in this article (despite him probably being correct in some of his opinions, & Tribune being a magazine for the Labour movement in general).
